LAVENDER/ASHY BLONDE HAIR: Tips and Tricks for DIY

Going all over pale ash blonde with my hair was the most challenging and complicated process I've experienced since I've been coloring my hair. I had to pull out all the stops this time, literally using every technique I've learned throughout the years for this one particular occasion, and I thought it might save some grief to finally share my experiences for those of you who are looking to achieve a similar hair color!

Here is my guide to achieving lavender/ashy blonde for the inexperienced and the experienced inexperienced.

Essentially, an accumulation of all the need-to-know tips, common mistakes, and quick fixes I've learned from other videos conveniently gathered into one badly postured, low production, 17-minute video of me being weird. YOU'RE WELCOME.

Although going into this I knew my biggest pet peeve about tutorial videos is that they're too long with excessive rambling, I've managed to out ramble all those tutorials previously before me. So to make things more bearable for y'all, the video is broken down into three parts (feel free to cut to which ever part is most relevant to you)

  • PART I: What You Need - 1:18

  • part ii: The Process - 3:24

  • PART III: How to Take Care of Your Hair After - 14:1

As referenced in the video, below is the miraculous journey of my hair in the past 3 years:

1. Black (Natural)

3. Ombre from light brown to blonde

2. Faded...pink....ombre (?)

Current hair color and its many transitions:

With T18 toner in (after I bleached my full head)

How yellow my hair still was after I washed out the toner

Lavender (After I had washed my hair out with Vitamin C + shampoo x2)

Ash blonde (how my hair looks right now after washing it a couple more times)

I hope this was helpful in anyway, leave me any additional questions or comments and I'd be happy to answer them to the best of my knowledge!
